Air fryer green beans offer a quick and easy side dish for your weeknight dinner. This recipe for air fried green beans is so simple. It takes less than 15 minutes from start to finish! Enjoy them as a snack, or pair them with other dishes for a mix-and-match meal.
How To Make This Recipe
For this recipe, we prefer to use fresh green beans. That said, this will also work with frozen beans if you double the cook time. For seasoning, we keep things simple with a blend of garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder.
While our recipe calls for olive oil, low-calorie cooking spray will also do the trick. If you want to skip the oil, check out our oil-free variation below. With these basic ingredients, making green beans in the airfryer has never been easier.
WFPB (Oil-Free) Variation
If you want to prepare this dish without oil, you can skip it entirely. Just put your green beans in the air fryer without oil or seasonings, tossing at least twice during cooking process to prevent sticking. Once they are finished, toss them in the seasonings while they’re still warm. With these steps, your green beans will also comply with a whole foods, plant-based diet.
Prepare Green Beans
We start by adding our green beans along with our olive oil, or a spritz of cooking spray, and seasonings to a large mixing bowl. Then, we toss to evenly distribute the seasonings.
From there, we pour our green beans into our air fryer basket. If you’re using a smaller air fryer, you may need to fry these in multiple batches.
Next, we cook our seasoned air fried green beans 370°F until they are crisp tender. We toss the basket halfway through the total cook time to ensure even cooking and prevent sticking.
Ready To Serve
Just as our green bean size varies, so too does the duration of our cooking time. Finer green beans need less time, somewhere between 6 minutes and 10 minutes. Larger beans, however, may require up to 15 minutes of cook time.
Once our green beans are crisp tender, we’re ready to serve.
These air fried green beans in the air fryer make for a great afternoon snack. And, they pair well with other dishes for a mix-and-match dinner. Now, let’s enjoy those beans!
