We could eat muesli every single day. A Swiss staple for over a hundred years, we’ve discovered many different ways to make Swiss muesli. In general, all versions of Bircher muesli involve soaking oats overnight in a combination of juice or milk and apples. This plant-based recipe is our favorite as it offers the perfect balance of sweetness. When you wake up the next morning, grab a spoon and dig into a bowl of this creamy overnight apple muesli.
How To Make This Recipe
Lucky for us, this recipe couldn’t be easier to prepare. We start by grabbing a clean, resealable jar. Into the jar, we add our oats, raisins, pecans, and cinnamon. We close the jar and give it a good shake to distribute our dry ingredients. Next, we add our apple, milk, yogurt, and maple syrup. We then stir to distribute the ingredients before sealing. Once sealed, we refrigerate overnight to soften the oats for a wonderfully creamy breakfast.
When you wake up the next morning, you’ll be treated to a wholesome breakfast. In fact, we won’t have to do a single extra thing at this point. We just pull those creamy oats out of the refrigerator, grab a spoon, and dig in. Once we’re done with our breakfast, we always welcome the easy clean up that comes with using only one jar for preparation. Between the simple overnight preparation and the quick clean up, this breakfast wins our kitchen.
